Yesterday, Trumbull's First Selectman gave his State of the Town speech.  He was very excited about all the new building in town, including the Madison Village Retail Center.  I already knew our friend PA's Pure Poetry would be one of the tenants, but upon reading Mr. Herbst's speech I learned that The Sitting Duck Tavern would be a signature tenant of the plaza!  The SDT already has a location in Stratford and the menu looks terrific.  What a great addition to Trumbull's food scene!  The bar menu looks especially fun!  Has anyone heard about any more of the new tenants coming to town?

Does it feel as though the world is increasingly grumpy?  Seriously, world news is so depressing and social media has become a huge pit of complaining.  For me, finding Gretchen Rubin's new podcast called 'Happier with Gretchen Rubin' was a breath of fresh air.  (Perhaps you are familiar with the name Gretchen Rubin, since she wrote a book called The Happiness Project a few years back that was pretty popular.)  Each week, Gretchen and her sister Elizabeth discuss tiny ways we can make our life happier.  For me, just listening to them talk makes me happier!  Their banter is terrific and I love their happiness tidbits like making your bed each day.  Give them a listen!
